Last of the High Kings

The Last of the High Kings, which is a follow-up to The New Policeman has now been published in the UK in hardback. US publication will follow later. The Fourth Horseman has just been published in paperback.

Another Bisto!

The New Policeman won the CBI Bisto Book of the Year Award on the 31st May. It is the fourth time I've won the award, and the sponsors have given me the beautiful trophy to keep.

Only Human, the sequel to Fourth World, will be published in the USA in hardback on the 18th April.

The Fourth Horseman will be published in hardback in early June. Meanwhile, the paperback of The New Policeman will be in the shops in early April.

It has been an exciting year, to say the least. In June 2005 I won the Children’s Books Ireland Bisto Book of the Year Award for Annan Water, and became the first author to have won the award three times. In September The New Policeman won The Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, and has gone on to win The Whitbread Children’s Book of the Year, and the Dublin Airport Authorities Children’s Book of the Year.

All this has led on to a new world of publicity and events, and I have hardly had a moment to think since then. Among other things, I have been recording the music for an audio book of The New Policeman so watch this space for details of its release.
