That's what it was supposed to look like, but somehow I went up to Ararat. No harm. Plenty of stops along the way, one for a cornish pastie and an apple tart at an excellent country bakery, the rest all rural.
This was a rest spot on the road to Dunkeld
I love gum trees. Here's an old one with parasitic mistletoe
Here are some younger ones. They remind me of Japanese paintings
And a nice mountain. Can't remember its name
And the foraging has begun a lot earlier than expected. Feral apples, in a creek beside the road
But I forgot I was crossing the state border into South Australia, and they have strict quarantine rules :(
So all my lovely apples, and the rest of my fruit and veg, all had to go in that yellow bin
This was a little dirt track leading to a lookout point. There was a big mob of kangaroos up there, but they moved off as I arrived, so no photo.
