Some local birds

 A pair of galahs. They generally hang out in larger, noisy gatherings, but these two were having a quiet time.

 

Port Lincoln parrots. They are very common in Alice Springs and not remotely bothered by human traffic.

 

Two different corvids, possibly a raven and a crow, but there are six types of plain black Corvid in Australia and they are practically impossible to tell apart.

 

Indian mynah

 

 A gang of corellas

 

Magpie lark, or mudlark

 

And last, but not least...

 

The fabulous Australian magpie. Not a corvid at all, but a cousin of the butcher bird, this one. But one of the smartest birds I have ever heard of. Look at this:

 

And watch them playing like kittens here:
